The Scout Association Partners With BeatBullying

06 NOV 2012

We’re delighted to be partnering with The Scout Association on an exciting new anti-bullying initiative. We’re training up Section Leaders to become BeatBullying Champions, providing them with the tools they need to understand and tackle bullying and cyberbullying. This will help them to keep the young people they work with safe and enable the young people themselves to take action to make bullying unacceptable.

As part of the initiative, we’ve developed special online training and fun activity packs for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. 500 packs have been sent to sections and are in use already, and 90 volunteers have taken part in the training so far – with two sessions still to go. And tomorrow (Friday) our partners Google will be hosting a CyberMentors training day for around 40 Scouts and Section leaders.

Many Sections will be celebrating what they have learnt by throwing parties in Anti-Bullying Week and beyond, helping us to celebrate our 10th birthday. Together we’re making bullying unacceptable.
